Elizabeth Hartree

Director

Elizabeth joined LawDeb from Railpen where she was Legal Director. Railpen manages the £30bn Railways Pension Scheme. This, combined with her roles as Trustee Director of the DLA Piper DC Scheme (2016 – 2019) and Trustee Director of the Institute of Engineering and Technology DB Scheme, which she retains, means she is already an experienced pension trustee.

Prior to her role at Railpen Elizabeth held roles in private practice and in-house, including at ITV plc.  She undertook her legal training at Baker McKenzie in London and Chicago having received a degree in English Literature from Christ’s College, Cambridge University and completed the LPC at the College of Law, London. She also holds the PMI Award in Pension Trusteeship.

Elizabeth’s practice includes DC Master Trust as well as large and mid-sized DB schemes.  She brings her experience in data and cyber resilience as a member of the Cyber working group for a household name organisation.  Elizabeth also sits on the working groups for GMP Equalisation for two other schemes, and in all her engagements manages the relationships with scheme sponsors, advisors and fellow trustees whilst driving the best outcomes for members.

Michael Chatterton, Senior Director of LawDeb Pension Trustees commented: “Elizabeth's extensive legal experience combined with her existing trustee experience across both DB and DC make her a hugely exciting addition to the team. The professional backgrounds of our trustees, and the way this knowledge and experience is shared amongst the team, is a key benefit of appointing LawDeb.  The technology focus of Elizabeth’s legal experience is a particular asset as schemes work to better engage members whilst ensuring security remains high.”
