Pension Trusteeship

David joined Law Debenture recently having previously been responsible for the development and implementation of pensions and benefits strategy at a number of companies. Prior to this he acted as a consulting actuary to a wide range of clients.

Particular expertise

  • Funding and re-structuring – all aspects of pension scheme funding, including the pension implications of acquisitions and disposals
  • Investment management – risk management and the strategic design and implementation of investment policy
  • Governance – in-depth knowledge of trustee board governance and legal and regulatory compliance

Background

For the past 20 years David has been responsible for the development and implementation of pensions and benefits strategy at a number of companies – most recently at Standard Chartered Bank.

With responsibility for the Bank’s pensions and benefits team, David set the pensions and benefits strategy and provided pro-active advice to senior management.

Prior to his role as Pensions & Benefits Group Head at Standard Chartered Bank, David was responsible for pensions at Alstom and Siemens UK. He started his career in pensions at Bacon & Woodrow – where he was a consulting actuary advising on all aspects of pension fund establishment, operation, accounting and funding.
