Vicky Paramour

Managing Director

Vicky Paramour joined LawDeb in 2015 and is Managing Director of the Pensions Practice. She leads a team of 50+ pension professionals – trustees and pensions executives – who are appointed to over 200 schemes, with c £300 billion in assets under management. Vicky’s team help govern pensions for 10% of the UK population.

Vicky herself represents LawDeb on four schemes ranging in size from £800m to £45bn; these include DB, DC and Hybrid benefit structures.  She chairs two of these schemes as well as chairing several committees covering funding, investment and DC issues.  She has also previously acted as corporate sole trustee on a number of schemes.

Vicky has successfully negotiated various funding and de-risking arrangements for schemes utilising innovative solutions such as pre-agreed triggers to deal with the deterioration in sponsor covenant or investment outlook and contingent funding arrangements.  She has completed numerous bulk annuity transactions and other insurance transactions and recently completed a series of multi-billion buy-ins of both deferred and pensioner liabilities as part of a plan to buy-out a large pension scheme, as well as a £10bn longevity hedge.

Vicky recently led a project to transfer  the DC benefits from one of the schemes she chairs to a Master Trust arrangement, working with the sponsor to ensure members’ needs were met both in terms of a positive transition experience and in providing access to appropriate investment options and retirement planning support in the future.

With over 20 years’ experience in the Pensions Industry and as a pensions actuary by background with broad pensions experience of working with a range of different stakeholders, Vicky’s aim for her schemes is to work with her fellow trustees and corporate sponsors to support good governance and find funding and investment solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders and importantly, deliver the best outcomes for members.

Prior to joining LawDeb she worked at EY, Towers Watson and Hymans Robertson advising trustees and corporate sponsors on pensions issues.

In her spare time Vicky likes to paint, travel and going hillwalking.
