Vicky is a pensions actuary by background and has over 15 years’ experience of advising trustees and corporate sponsors on pensions issues.

Examples of particular expertise include:

  • Funding – valuation negotiations and contingent funding arrangements
  • Re-structuring – including benefit change, closure to future accrual, buy-out, buy-in and wind-ups
  • Corporate activity – including business acquisition and disposal and negotiation of acceptable mitigation packages for pension schemes
  • Investment strategies – including hedging, liability management exercises, de-risking strategies centred around flight paths and the design of DC investment strategies
  • Insurance arrangements – including buy-ins, buy-outs, medical underwriting, captive insurance arrangements
  • Adviser selection – oversight of selection panels for investment managers, other advisers and service providers

Notable successes

  • Successfully negotiated funding and de-risking arrangements for a number of schemes utilising innovative solutions such as contingent funding arrangements where appropriate
  • Established risk management framework including use of liability driven investment strategy and other de-risking measures
  • Implemented buy-ins, including leading trustee board through the implementation of captive insurance arrangements to secure a buy-in
  • Led trustee boards through major corporate restructuring

  • Currently appointed to 9 schemes ranging in size from £50m to £10bn and including DB, DC, Hybrid and Sole Trustee roles
