Jane Beverley

What her colleagues say

“We are delighted to have Jane join the team. LawDeb is always looking to add new skills and professional backgrounds and Jane’s appointment does just that. Her understanding of the fast-changing legal and regulatory environment will stand her in good stead in challenging advice (where necessary) and in leading on technically complex projects on trustee boards.”

Michael Chatterton, Managing Director, LawDeb Pension Trustees

Jane joined from XPS Pensions Group where she worked from 2004 onwards and where she was a Principal and Head of Research from 2007. She is recognised within the industry as one of the leading technical experts in pensions and has been shortlisted twice for ‘Pensions Woman of the Year’.

Jane has a broad and deep knowledge of the UK DB and DC regulatory landscape, with particular expertise in the areas of pensions taxation, GMP equalisation and conversion, the implementation of the IORP directive, pension scheme governance, TPR powers and the forthcoming DB funding code. She also has a strong interest in the quality of pensions communications, both to trustees and to members.

Her responsibilities at XPS included leading the research team and producing a range of briefing materials to keep colleagues and clients up to date on emerging technical developments. She also managed the XPS trustee training programme, including delivering introductory Trustee Knowledge and Understanding courses and bespoke training for individual trustee boards.

Jane served for a number of years on several pensions industry committees, including chairing the ACA (Association of Consulting Actuaries) Pension Schemes Committee.

Prior to her time at XPS Jane was a Technical Actuarial Analyst at Hazell Carr Pensions Consulting. Jane is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and holds an MA and D. Phil in Literae Humaniores (Classics) from Merton College, Oxford.
