Conference about de-risking and mature scheme investments
10 July 2014
Michael Chatterton, director of LawDeb Pensions Trustees, moderated the opening session of the SPS conference held on 8 July which covered the de-risking and investment issues facing mature pension schemes.
Whilst the conference covered governance and general investment issues, the opening session focused on a range of strategies that can help pension schemes reach their destinations, as well as considering the practical implications of reaching the endgame.
Michael’s extensive experience in Liability-driven investment (LDI) and de-risking solutions and his recent involvement in largest ever bulk annuity purchase in the UK pensions market for the ICI Pension Fund meant he was well placed to moderate the session.
Commenting on the conference Michael said:
The opportunity the conference gave large, mature pension schemes to review their investment and de-risking options was timely. My recent involvement in the ICI Pension Fund buy-in gave me insight into the practical implications of the current market place.
