Technical Seminar organised by the Pensions Management Institute
23 October 2014
John Nestor lead discussion about the funding of UK DB pension schemes at Technical Seminar organised by the Pensions Management Institute
John Nestor, a director of LawDeb Pension Trustees, led the discussion about the funding of UK Defined Benefit (“DB”) pension schemes at a Technical Seminar. It was organised by the Pensions Management Institute (“PMI”) and took place at the end of September.
The PMI organises a series of technical seminars across the year which seek to help pensions professionals and trustees focus on specific technical issues. This helps provide them with the guidance they need to carry out their roles effectively.
The overall theme of the seminar was the operation of DB pensions schemes in the UK. The first session, led by John, focussed on the funding aspects of DB pensions schemes. Other sessions covered regulation; the overall landscape of UK pensions; and actuarial valuation and reporting.
Commenting on his participation John said:
We support the objectives of the PMI’s series of technical seminars and are pleased that the experience and expertise of LawDeb Pension Trustees can contribute by providing guidance about operational effectiveness.
