Andrew Parker moderates session at SPS Private Equity Investors Annual Conference
15 January 2016
Andrew Parker, Director of LawDeb Pension Trustees, moderated the Performance & Investment session and panel discussion at a SPS Private Equity Investors’ annual conference held yesterday, (14th January 2016).
The conference aimed to provide the opportunity for pension funds and other institutional private equity investors to discuss topical issues relating to fund investments in private equity in the current market environment. In addition to addressing overall market issues, specific aspects of private equity investment covered included recent developments; the achievement of target return; best practice in benchmarking and performance measurement; and current terms and conditions and particular legal issues about which investors should be aware. The day ended with a panel session where private equity investors shared their experiences in the area.
Andrew’s involvement as an independent trustee in a number of pension schemes where private equity investments forms part of the overall portfolio combined with his legal background made him an ideal moderator for the session and panel discussion.
...although there is a role for private equity in the overall investment portfolios of pension funds, this asset class can present challenges for trustees. I was pleased to share my experience and that of LawDeb Pension Trustees to help others better appreciate the potential it can provide.
