Law Debenture Pension Trustees grows its investment expertise
03 July 2017
Law Debenture Pension Trustees continues to grow its team with the appointment of Andrew Harrison. Andrew joined in June from Aberdeen Asset Management where he was Head of Fixed Income Product Specialists. This brings the total new hires to five in the last 12 months alone.
Andrew's investment background, cultivated over a 27 year career spanning roles such as Managing Director at Blackrock; Head of UK LDI Strategy at Barclays Global Investors and Derivatives Portfolio Manager at Salomon Brothers, is a welcome addition to the LawDeb team.
Andrew has managed strategic client relationships as well as having extensive experience of portfolio management and investment strategy, emphasising derivatives and risk management, and covering a broad spectrum of asset classes. In addition, he has worked with some of the UK's largest pension funds developing a deep understanding of the work of pension trustees.
Andrew's move to LawDeb follows his completion of the Pension Management Institute's Level 3 Certificate in Pension Trusteeship. He undertook this having become interested in trusteeship following his work with various schemes where he saw the opportunity for trustees with investment expertise to have a real and positive impact on the decision making process.
In the weeks since joining LawDeb Andrew has taken on two cover director roles supporting fellow trustees Venetia Trayhurn and David Felder. He has also worked on updating the core information used by all of our trustees to inform the investment decisions for their schemes.
Michael Chatterton, Managing Director of LawDeb Pension Trustees commented on Andrew’s appointment by saying how pleased he was to welcome him to LawDeb.
Andrew’s appointment is another example of our ability to hire knowledgeable people who are committed to optimising trustee board governance. He adds depth to our investment expertise that is critical to our ability to manage the future of our clients’ pension schemes.
