Law Debenture marks 50 years in Hong Kong with a wonderful party
We are immensely proud to celebrate this milestone of 50 years operating in Hong Kong. The region has seen significant change during this period and it is testament to the quality of our team and the service they deliver that we continue to be a valued brand. We continue this commitment to support those seeking both transaction and governance services in Asia. With the introduction of Corporate Secretarial Services in 2021 we have seen the appetite for us to provide more services from our Hong Kong based office and we are excited to continue to grow the business here.

Winnie Wong - Head of Corporate Trust - Asia
Head of Corporate Trust Asia, Winnie Wong, is key to the innovative approach we take. Here Winnie shares a bit about her background and her work at Law Debenture.
“Hong Kong was my birthplace and hometown until I moved to the UK as a preteen. This city has always been an endearing place to me for the fond memories I had as a child. A family visit turned to a permanent stay decades ago. Hong Kong has been and is still painting my life with vibrance and excitement both professionally and personally.
My career path has been an A to Z of the capital markets! I started as a JGBs, Euroyen Bond Trader in the City of London. Followed by over 10 years investment banking in Asia – DCM/ECM Origination, Syndication, and Trading. Licensed Representative Officer. And now over 10 years in issuer services – Corporate Trust, Global Custody.
I joined Law Debenture in January 2019 and I love the entrepreneurial spirit of the Hong Kong business. We really listen to what our clients are busy with, what they are finding challenging and what they would like to achieve. We are then able to work with them on a solution. This can be a bespoke approach, and as we learn we share this expertise with clients more widely, making us a truly trusted partner.

Marc Cormack-Bissett, Director - Corporate Secretarial Services
Our Head of Operations and Corporate Secretarial Services (CSS) APAC Marc Cormack-Bissett shares his experiences:
“Hong Kong is such a vibrant city, full of opportunity so I was pleased when my three month secondment became a permanent role here. Since then both the Law Debenture business and my role have expanded further and I now manage the CSS APAC business, as well as operations. It is wonderful to be part of a business that has developed over its 50 years in Hong Kong to offer a greater range of transaction and governance focused services, without compromising on what we're best known for: independence and quality service delivery.
As well as interesting work, I have taken up some great hobbies in Hong Kong. Of particular note: dragon boating with the Tai Tam Tigers! Being a novice brought me many new challenges, but I’m already seeing great results (and really enjoying it!). I look forward to competing in the Gay Games in Hong Kong in November 2023."
