LawDeb’s Corporate Secretarial Services Team strengthens support for clients in regulated industries

LawDeb Corporate Secretarial Services (CSS) announces the appointment of Patrick Davis as Director, with a particular focus on delivering Board and Committee governance to clients within the financial services and other regulated sectors.

Patrick brings to the growing team a broader range of listed, regulated and compliance advisory capabilities which will benefit our clients dealing with increasingly complex governance challenges and regulatory engagement, including, for example, in relation to Skilled Person (s.166) Reviews and Information Requests. His technical skills, market knowledge and experience will help to identify innovative solutions that will have a material impact for our clients. 

LawDeb has seen significant demand for both interim support and outsourcing across all its secretarial and governance services, and Patrick’s appointment will not only bolster the senior team at CSS, but will also provide support to Trish Houston, Head of CSS, through the team’s next phase of growth.

Patrick is a Senior Legal and Compliance Leader, and Company Secretary, with over 20 years’ experience within regulated investment banking, trading, clearing and financial infrastructure institutions (FTSE250/NYSE), and technology and fintech/blockchain start-up environments.

Patrick joins LawDeb from CMC Markets where he was most recently General Counsel, Group Head of Compliance and Company Secretary providing oversight across the UK, EU and APAC global offices.

Prior to his time at CMC, Patrick held a variety of roles including: General Counsel at Allocated Bullion Exchange (ABX) and Kinesis Money: within the Intercontinental Exchange, Inc (ICE) Group of companies; Head of Legal & Company Secretary at ICE Futures Europe, ICE Clear Europe, ICE Benchmark Administration Limited and all ICE EU Group affiliates; and legal roles at Credit Lyonnais, BZW and Barclays Capital.

Patrick trained and qualified into the Corporate Department at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

CSS offers both high-volume entity management, with impactful coverage across 120+ countries, and tailored board governance services.

The business also provides governance support for listed PLCs, investment trusts and companies preparing for IPO and recently launched services including verifier for Register of Overseas Offices and Searches and Charges.
